The words of a raging madman, enough to to threaten Nature itself, calling for a purge. This new world had been marked by the needs of humans to kneel under the dominion of one all mighty entity. But what kind of monster demands for the destruction of other beliefs? The old world was in danger, to defend itself it had to call for a new protector, and what better soldier than one made by the humans and yet rejected by them: The Abandonned Scarecrow was to become the savior, a shield against the madness of the new world.

The second illustration I did with the Scarecrow character. I really loved doing these but ultimately I think I was feeling like the style was too far away from me and what I like to do. Again it felt like I was trying to do Mignolaesque illustrations and I believe it was one of the last time that I did a drawing like that. As fun as it was, too different from what I wanted to do and it a style that works only between the hands of the artist behind it. I think I learned a lot through it though when it comes to composition and shadows. With that said, here's the repost! I have added quite a lot of things to this one. Originally there was only the Scarecrow and the Skulltree, I have worked on the background, added the character of the Zealous Priest, the church behind him, ropes to the branches of the tree and the shadowy crowd on the left side.
