In the most beautiful fantasies, the hero often dies for what he believes in, for the ones that means everything. For the love interest and the greater good. Was it the fate of the Scarecrow? Some stories are more grounded than others in the reality of things. A monster will always be a monster, a freak, an abnormality, a plague in the perfect design of things. They will all be thankfull that it gave its life for their sake. A sacrifice. Not even close. That Scarecrow was killed and now is slowly dying cradled in the arms of a deceiving presence. It will become the monster of this story, the world needs it to move forward.

I think there is something captivating about these stories, something unique in the cruelty, the darkness that slither in between the lines of these tales. This new repost is a bit of a tribute to one of the most important character that I have drawn. The Scarecrow. Nothing related to Batman or horror movies, just an apparition in a dream that I had years ago. It was the reason strangely enough behind many defining choices, one being sharing my drawings with you all. To some extend, many of the scarecrow drawings I did so far are blueprints to finally draw this one as I had imagined it.
